Parking deck, parking structure, parking garage cleaning with filtration ii

Here are some videos old and new that we have done....

When cleaning, pressure washing, power washing a multi level parking structure, parking deck or parking garage, Filtration from the run off of these Class II Hazardous Waste is required.

Do NOT let anyone tell you differently !

Check with your State and Local EPA Agencies before you discharge anything.

In 23 years, we and or our clients have NEVER been written up, verbally corrected or fined from ANY EPA Agency for Parking Garage Cleaning and / or discharge issues...NEVER !

Very impressive Jim. Is that ridding machine just scrubbing or washing also?

That is a Tennant 7400 scrubber/sweeper. A must have piece of equipment in the parking garage structure business.

Thanks again Jim for sharing your experience and knowledge with all.

Yes, it is a mobile Vacuum with up to (2) 75 gallon tanks. The unit has a force of 400LBS downward pressure with the brushes. That a much harder force of scrubbing than any one person can.

So Many times you hear how the industry says that you can dump this stuff somewhere on the property providing it does not go into the storm drain.

What about leaching into the underground water supply?

I got news for everyone, this stuff will leach through the grass, dirt, soil and eventually will reach the underground drinking supply.... also known as the US Waterways.

If I were to dump this stuff on the ground in California at the JOBSITE .... I would be in violation and the fines will be steep.

That is why contractors should always check with the local jurisdictions to make sure it is OK. There area's where allowing wash water to go to holding ponds is not permissible because the ground water levels are very close to the surface. Also, if repeated washing are sending wash water to the same area a concentration of pollutants can build. When the property owner goes to sell the property a soil test has the potential to reveal the pollutants exposing the contractor to possible litigation from the land owner for allowing contamination to build on the site. It is just a little more food for thought in trying to protect yourself and your customer.

And if you find ANY state, county or city that says you can dump this stuff just anywhere you like, LET ALL OF US CONTRACTORS, INDUSTRIAL AND HAZARD WASTE HAULERS KNOW!
