The International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA) currently offers two certification programs - one for cleaning and one for inspection. The Certified Exhaust Cleaning Specialist (CECS) and Certified Exhaust System Inspector (CESI) certification programs test candidates knowledge of industry codes, safety procedures and mechanical systems for the purpose of certifying individuals to properly inspect and clean kitchen exhaust systems according to NFPA 96.
